This was a pleasant and amusing surprise. Bishop Wright discusses his new work on heaven, resurrection and the Kingdom with Stephen Colbert - who is irreverent and hilarious.
This is great! I never knew that Bishop Wright was such a "good sport". I wonder, though, if he was fully briefed on what kind of a show he was being booked on.
Following the good work being done by my friends at Covenant and Episcopal Cafe, I have decided that the group blog is a much better way to go. I have invited some friends to post here -- so far to include Cathie Caimano, Bryan Owen, Chris Epperson, Tom Simmons, Eric Von Salzen, and more to come.
The fact is we don't agree on everything. We are not all clergy, 'liberal,' or 'conservative,' or tied to any particular camp within the Episcopal Church. We are friends in Christ, and fellow Episcopalians, dedicated to the baptismal covenant which forms our identity and mission.
The phrase 'Anglican Centrist' was chosen by me several years ago following the lead of the Diocese of Virginia publication issued during a number of General Conventions which was entitled, "The Center Aisle."

This was from a couple of months ago. The Colbert Report was in reruns the last few weeks.
Still good stuff.
